It’s not unusual to grab a Heineken to celebrate a special occasion, but Major League Soccer (MLS) goes a step further as it celebrates its 20th season – it grabs a five-year partnership with Heineken as the Official Beer of the League. The landmark agreement kicks off with MLS Rivalry Week Presented by Heineken, featuring two separate weeks of competition this summer with some of the leagues’ most anticipated matchups and cross-town and intrastate competition – New York City FC vs. New York Red Bulls, FC Dallas vs. Houston Dynamo and LA Galaxy vs.
New Yorkers really love their city, and yes, they really ride the subway – nearly six million people each weekday to be exact. Heineken hopes to inspire these residents – as well as visitors 21 and older – to experience the iconic subway system in a new way with the latest installment of the brewer’s “Open Your City” campaign.
